It has been incredible watching this project grow from an idea we had sitting in a dorm room damn near one year ago, to becoming the project that is Quality of Living. It has taken a years worth of creative energy and collaboration with some of the dopest people I know to make this project happen. This past year has been a real whirlwind, from moving away from our mama’s and our city to go to school in Cali, to making it hail Caprisuns (Beeba) at Capitol Hill Block Party, it’s been incredibly fun and drastically different from any other period in our lives. For the first time we have been hit with a bit of a sobering feeling that, “dang…we kinda have to grow up a little.” Well not a lot just a little and maybe mature a tiny bit. Through all this shit we have realized that what life really is all about is doing what ever you can to enjoy it all as much as possible, do what ever you can to raise your Quality of Living.
We couldn’t have done any of this without the crazy ass amount of people we had and have working in our corner. So an incredible thanks goes to all that helped us along the way.
Morgan Backus – the man behind Beeba Vision 1 and three years later Beeba Vision II and the producer of like half the tracks we have ever made. His motivational speeches and dope ass beats are why we spent this past summer in the studio and not at the beach.
Spike Anderson- the reason we started rapping none of this would have happened without him. Today he takes the role of the guy that will sit down and tell us when our music and ideas suck and get us on the right path.
Nic Beeba – He is La Familia…makes this shit fun…makes shows crack…and will ball on a budget with us at the Taco spots and sneaker shops across the world..we got really close on that long PDX tour.
Kromagnon – He’s new to the family and helped catastrophically with the sounds on QOL he went well beyond the three dope ass beats he made for the album but he gave us incredible feedback on every song on this and really brought the project to its full potential. We are incredibly excited to keep working with him dude has skills
Justo (the Physics) – The Physics…I dont even need to say much else…its a honor to be able to work with the people that we have been listening to for years. They make some of the dopest music in the world to me straight up they have an incredible sound and its awesome to be able to get on some Justo beats and add our own character to them.
Jay-P – The producer of Lucky Me, that beat is gnarly as hell. I still trip every time I hear the bass line on it. Hes a dope ass producer from the town and has always been willing to work with us. get familiar.
Schuyler Karr – Hes been dictating the sounds behind BFA since day one, if any body knows he made the “Do You Know” beat which was the first song we ever made, one of my favorite producers and people incredibly talented dude.
Sophie Messing – Captured the essence of Quality of living in the album cover
Kristian – Along with the MO fam, Kristian helped us swag out this release
Ellis/ Martin – Little homies that do little homie shit and always take all the shit we give them when they roll with us.
Jamarie Torrence – our spiritual guide/best buddy
Parker Reddington – He recorded mixed and mastered all of QOL. Which means he had to put up with all our shenanigans and nonsense in the studio all summer he probably spent more time then us listening to this album and getting it all put together real nice. It always takes our music to a new level with his tips on recording and with his mixing and mastering abilities if hes not sick of us and if there is a next BFA project im sure we will be recording it with him at Slap Crackle Pop. Swag
The Local Scene – Nuf Said. Working with Sabzi on the BFA Say joints this summer was incredibly dope. Opening up for the Blue Scholars at their album release was one of the tighetest and most humbling experiences of my life. Rocking With Sol and Scribes for our last show was probably the best way to end my summer. We have received so much advice from all of those artist and man others in the Seattle scene. One of the dopest part of Seattle hip hop is that the big accomplished homies really know what its like to be young ambitious and in love with this rap shit and they are always down to lend some knowledge to some kids.
Most importantly everyone that fucks with our music. You guys have been there with us as we put out music or videos or perform at shows. These experiences are what keep us inspired to make music. Quality of Living like yee!
